| In what other state can you show them where your from by simply holding up your hands! |
The State of Michigan is "The Water Wonderland." For one, it is the only state that touches four of the five Great Lakes. The only state that has one named after it... Lake Michigan which is derived from a Native American word "Michi-gama" which means "large lake." We have more than 11,000 inland lakes and 36,000 miles of streams with more than 100 species of freshwater fish. According to geographers where ever you are in Michigan you are no further than six miles from a lake or stream! There is 3,126 miles of Great Lakes shoreline... more freshwater shoreline than any other.

You can fly fish in some of the most famous lakes and rivers available in this country. World class trout and salmon rivers... The Au Sable, Pere Marquette, Manistee, Boardman, and the Two Hearted to name a few. There is miles of blue ribbon smallmouth bass fishing rivers as well... The Huron, The Shiawasse, and The Muskegon. There's Lake St. Clair, many consider it the sixth Great Lake. It's a lake that is filled with some of finest largemouth, smallmouth, and white bass fishing. St. Clair is also considered by many to be the "World's Greatest Musky Lake" it is a body of water that has the largest and biggest population of musky anywhere. You can fish the shorelines of The Great Lakes and Islands to find world class carp fishing in shallow gin clear waters. Fish the surf along the beaches and river mouths for salmon and trout. And, all those 11,000 inland lakes contain some the greatest diversity of freshwater species anywhere! I'll put Michigan up against any other state for the opportunity to fly fish in some of the most beautiful locations, variety of water, and shear numbers of fish! Everyone should come visit MICHIGAN... and bring your FLY RODS!

Never complain about a place to fish, is what I like about living in this place. I am jealous. Thanks for sharing
