Most of the testing and abusing of these items have taken place at the Freshwater Fly Proving Grounds... the local lakes and woods of Michigan. The Fish Fighter USA Hat Fly Patch
The Fish Fighter Hat Fly Clip is a versatile, streamlined, super lightweight plastic clip with a patch of high density foam. It's perfect for attaching to hats for easy access when drying flies or when you may want to only carry a handful of fly patterns on the water. You can carry a handful of flies with you right on the bill of your cap. It's great for Tenkara fisherman, the minimalist, or a fly fisherman on foot who just wants to carry a few fly patterns with them into the stream or onto an ocean flat loaded up with a couple or your favorite crab patterns. One customer uses his for running the beaches of Florida chasing snook. I personally use mine when wading the Great Lakes shallows for carp and smallmouth. I can carry a few of my best crawfish patterns on my hat for quick easy access!
The Fish Fighter Hat Fly Clip was designed to be used on the bill of your favorite fishing hat to protect the fabric and to make it easier to access the flies that are placed there. It can save you a lot of time from having to dig or cutout trapped flies in the fabric of your hat. The clip can be slid on and off with one hand instead of having to remove your hat. It really works great for protecting your hat fabric from snagging, tearing, and puncture wounds from hooks.
